You can't have a light without a dark to stick it in. ~Arlo Guthrie
I'm not usually a Pollyanna type. I tend to be a bit of a pessimist. (I don't think I'm a negative person exactly, but I do worry a lot and focus on what is wrong with a situation and try to fix it, instead of appreciating and seeing what may be right.)
So this quote was just a little reminder for me (and you, if you need it...no charge.) to look at the bright side and appreciate the tough times as what they are...a way for me to learn and be more aware and present in the good times.

Love this simple yet profound post ... for years I've been an incurable 'Pollyanna' but lately need to be reminded. Thanks and blessings for a bright and beautiful week! Love you!
I am the same way but I like to say I'm a realist. :) I do try to see the good and not let it get to me but also see the worst and worry about it.
Lovely quote. When folks tell me I'm being negative, I tell them, no I'm a realist. Sometimes you just have to call a spade, a spade. Have a blessed week, and love the light!
Very cool. Someone just said this in our Bible study. Thanks for bringing up this recurring theme for me today.
I love this photo. Beautiful.
What an awesome capture and your words are ones I really ned to focus upon. If there is nothing to worry about, I will make something up to fret on...gotta think the glass is half full instead of half empty. Loved your post. genie
I struggle with this quite a bit- I have a lot of things that I like to complain about but then I have to look at where we were just a few years ago & realize that I would have felt so blessed to have these situations back then- so then I stop & just appreciate what is happening.
Lovely photographs. BUt.. (maybe it's because I'm Dutch that I don't know).. who is Pollyanna? :D
I do love the quote though and it couldn't have been timed better. Thank you!
Fantastic composition, light, and bokeh!
