Everybody's Doing It

So all of my best pals have been posting the "25 things about me" survey...so I decided to give in to peer pressure and do the same thing. Some of them I'm sure are well known, others maybe not so much. Here goes!

1 - I am the proud mom of Merrick Wilder, and baby Barron #2, and wife to Billy
2 - Running helps me relax, and I am addicted
3 - I try to eat healthy, and usually do, but have a vicious sweet tooth
4 - I LOVE reading, and am currently reading the Twilight series. I felt silly about it at first, but fell in love with it and don't care anymore. :)
5 - I feel guilty when I forget to take my prenatal vitamin, and have been known to get up after I'm already in bed for the night to take it. haha.
6 - I am my own worst critic, and most of the time take things too personally
7 - I am an introvert and love quiet time alone/piddling around the house
8 - Being cold/hungry makes me cranky
9 - I would really love to be a great cook, and really enjoy it!
10 - Billy and I always dream about building/designing our own house, and I hope it happens someday!
11 - Overseas missions has always tugged at my heart, and I'm hoping in some aspect it might be in our future
12 - Sweatpants and a t-shirts are my favorite things to wear (especially these days)...so thankful for a husband who actually prefers the way I look when I'm "comfortable" being a bum. :)
13 - 5'9" is my height...and I don't like being tall. I don't wear heals because I feel like I tower over everyone.
14 - I hate when people wake me up by turning lights on
15 - Scraping forks on plates and teeth is one of my worst pet peeves. It gives me chills.
16 - I am a neat freak...and can't work if my "space" is messy.
17 - I don't like to share my food, but am really bad about picking at my husband's food :)
18 - I love summer, and warm weather
19 - Baby Barron makes me very happy when it kicks me :)
20 - Diet Dr Pepper is my favorite thing to drink
21 - I started reading through the Bible this year, and am actually keeping up with it this time! :)
22 - Memorizing Scripture is something I really want/mean to do, but I'm not so good at keeping up with that
23 - I love presents! :)
24 - Billy calls me "shooter" because he says I have really good aim
25 - This thing took me forever because I kept erasing things and putting different info instead :)

These are 2 pictures I took of Merrick on the way home from Wal-Mart today. Apparently I'm not feeding him enough and he feels the need to chew on his shoe. The second one is of him crying because he has a soda addiction and Mom and Dad weren't sharing. :) I do believe its time for him to kick the habit.

Not Good-Bye...

So many of you may already know that my mom's youngest sister, Leigh, passed away Sunday afternoon. She was only 47, and it was a huge shock to all of us. She had dealt with epilepsy and some heart problems throughout her life, and at this point they are leaning towards the cause of death being atherosclerosis. No one has been able to give us a definite answer at this point, but we all have peace in the fact that where she is right now, with her Savior. And she's not worried about epilepsy and heart conditions anymore. I know when someone passes away, people often gush about what a great person they were. I think she'd want people to know she was stubborn as a mule, and was awful at remembering people's names. :) She was a bear if you woke her up before noon, unless she had to be at work. But she was one of the most amazing givers I've ever met. If she happened to find out something that you liked, you were gonna get it. And she'd never forget what you liked either. She was this way with all her friends and family. She may not have remember names, but remembered the things that were important to the people that she cared about. She loved to hang out, laugh, and make people laugh. She loved eating cheese-fries from Outback, going to football games, playing racquetball, taking pictures, and laying out until she was toasted. She was truly one of a kind...and we'll all miss her. But we know it's only for a little while. Can't wait to see you again, Leigh!

Shooting Hoops...Sorta

Merrick was playing basketball in his room tonight after dinner. He isn't too bad at it and has actually thrown the ball into the hoop a couple of times! :) I took this video of him perfecting his shot. He kept letting go of the ball too soon and it was landing on his head. Oh...and did I mention he throws with his left hand? Maybe he'll be a south paw like his mommy! :)

Let *My Ears* Ring

We spent our evening taking 180 (our youth group) to a concert in Richmond. It was put on by Matt Senger's church...and we were glad to be able to catch up with him and Amy! Admittedly, it wasn't exactly my type of music. I haven't heard that much screaming since Merrick was an infant. But the bands were actually really good...and made an effort to put all the focus on Christ. Our kiddos from the country (who listen to stuff like Akon and Beyonce) were very brave. :) haha. All kidding aside, it was fun to spend an evening hanging out with them! Here are some pictures from tonight!

My Growing Belly

Here are some pictures I took today of the ultrasound pictures of my two...and a few of the tummy I'm growing. Almost 16 weeks now! :)

Meow

Merrick really is a man of few words...and "meow" is one of them. :) Anna took this video while she was watching him this morning. Who knows...maybe one day he'll say "mama"...or I could just change my name to Meow. My mom was always threatening to change her name...why not? :)

The Best Medicine...

So Merrick has taken to making himself laugh lately. Even if nothing is funny, he'll crack himself up just to make people laugh. :) He started this up last night when we went out to dinner, and people were laughing at him because he stole a ketchup bottle out of a waitress' pocket. I guess he thinks if mom is still laughing at him he won't get in trouble for his sticky fingers. :)

Don't Be a Square...

So I have been carrying around this bitterness towards whoever designs maternity clothes. Every pair of maternity jeans I try on hits me right above the ankle. (I'm not expecting a flood, though I do think when baby Barron finally arrives I will feel something like the ark.) I was beginning to think that someone doesn't want tall thin girls reproducing. I FINALLY found this really cute store in Carytown that sells maternity jeans that are actually long enough for "chicken legs" Barron. (I am not THAT tall...but most of my height seems to be my legs, a blessing or a curse I'm not sure which. Haha) So now I can stop hiding in my closet telling my husband "I can't go out of the house IN THIS!" Well...that may be pushing it. (I am female after all.) But at least when I DO find something to wear my jeans will be long enough. :)

Screaming Match

Just so you know we don't ALWAYS have screaming matches for fun in the evenings. :) And for the record Merrick started it. Haha. He started yelling, and Billy yelled back to make him laugh, and it was on. :)

The World's Cutest Shrimp

Baby Barron is officially in its 2nd trimester, is about 3.5 inches long (or the size of a shrimp), and is already wiggling like it has ants in its pants. *I suppose that runs in the family* We had an ultrasound today for a screening test for chromosome abnormalities, and the ultrasound tech kept having to ask me to cough to try to get the baby to move to where she could take the right pictures. :) It was wiggling all around except to where it should have been. :) Even though some of it's photos somewhat resemble an alien at this point...I still think it's one of the cutest things I've ever seen. (Rivaled only by Wild's good looks of course...but I suppose I'm rather partial to them both. haha) We had a great check-up. My Dr. told me I am about as boring as they come, but around there they like that. *Meaning we had a good check-up with nothing out of the ordinary* I am fine with being boring if that's the case! Here are some photos of our little shrimp...
