So all those cutesie newborn shots you see? I definitely learned the hard way they are harder than they look. You must deal with uncooperative flailing limbs, wobbly heads, always hungry tummies, and little crying mouths. (probably not in all cases...but Jericho proved to take after his siblings in that he did everything possible to give me a run for my money.
I think all things considered, and the fact that I think he's reeediculously cute no matter what reeediculous face he is making, I think the few shots I ended up getting before he decided a lunch break was necessary turned out ok.
The awesome outfit was a shower gift from one of my best pals. I think its one of the cutest things pretty much ever. I only wish I'd had something like this for all the kiddos. The other two didn't get quite the newborn photo shoot since I wasn't quite as shutter happy. They are probably secretly thanking Jericho for taking the lens off of them for a few minutes.

Tulips, Sunshine, and a Good Song
And how the heavens, they opened up
Like arms of dazzling gold
With our rain washed histories
Well they do not need to be told
Like arms of dazzling gold
With our rain washed histories
Well they do not need to be told

Show me now, show me the arms aloft
Every eye trained on a different star
This magic
This drunken semaphore
And I
We are listening
And we're not blind
This is your life
This is your time / Snow Patrol
The first shot is for Macro Monday. Check out more shots at Monday Rewind.

Camping Out
The other day one of my long-time pals came over to visit. She's been a friend, an (almost) roommate, and a part of my family since high school. She even offers to watch my kids. I know a real friend when they'll offer to watch my somewhat hyperactive and sarcastic children.
I think she won their hearts when she gave them these cool tents (featuring a few of their fav characters) for Christmas. While opening their presents Merrick exclaimed with a huge smile on his face, "This is the worst presents ever!" Obviously we need to work on our word definitions, since he clearly loves the tent. They have spent a lot of time in them over the last few days. And since it seems to keep them from arguing quite as much, they can live in them if they want.
While they were screaming and yelling and running in and out of their tents, Jericho was peacefully swinging away in the corner of the living room. Thank goodness he tolerates the noise. He sleeps through almost anything they dish out. I guess he's been listening to the chaos on the outside for 38 weeks...so he knew what was coming. As his shirt says, he's "Tougher than I Look". Although that is a pretty ferocious face he's making.

Its in the Diapers
So I'm sure you've heard the saying "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach". I think, in this house at least, the way to a woman's heart is through changing diapers at 3 am.
I've been blessed with a husband who doesn't think helping around the house isn't part of his job description. He never hesitates to put the kids in bed, do the laundry, or change diapers. I think that's pretty awesome.
I definitely appreciate this, especially after having our third baby. Those middle of the night feeding are a little easier to tolerate when you aren't doing it completely alone. Thanks, stud!
Check out more shots at YouCapture. The first shot is for This or That, third is for Texture Thursday.

Survivor
Yesterday was my first day home with all 3 kiddos. Alone, with all three kiddos. It actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Nothing too eventful happened...we just ate, played, visited with a few friends who came over, and broke up a few fights. Between the older two. Jericho generally minds his own business at this point unless he's eyeing me with a hungry gleam in his eye.
I think this 3 kids thing may not be that bad. We'll just have to see how it goes. What I'm not looking forward to is the first time I try to actually leave the house with all 3 of them. I think that's going to be the real test of my mommy powers. Stay tuned...I'm sure that'll make for an interesting blog post.
