People often ask me how I get all of my kids to smile/look at the camera when I'm trying to get pictures of them. The answer really is nothing to my credit whatsoever. Quite simply...I bribe them with looking at the pictures of themselves when I'm done. They are vain enough to like looking at themselves, so they'll sit there (for a few seconds at least) so they can see what they look like.
We do still have to work through grimaces, get-off-me, where-exactly-are-you-looking, babies who aren't vain yet, and the classic "constipated face" that comes with forcing kids to smile. But all in all, this is the strategy that seems to work best for me. Try it and let me know what you think! ;)
