A Little Bit More

“And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”

This is one of my very favorite Christmastime quotes, because its that moment of realization for the grinch, the moment where everything suddenly is clear and he just gets it. I think, sitting here looking at this picture of my most precious earthly gifts, is my moment this Christmas to just get it. I feel like there is a moment like that every year, every season really, of my life. Where God's grace and gifts, ones I understand and ones I will have to wait to understand, are so obvious to me that I can't help but  stare in wonder. And in turn can't help but be so humbly grateful. So this Christmas, I am hoping that for each of you that happen to read this...that you see with worship-stirring clarity the beauty and grace of the gifts that can't be put under a tree. Merry Christmas!
